Using the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system Viridian will provide project consulting and coordination of project certification. This process will achieve an organization’s goal of minimizing building energy and water use, reducing the environmental impacts, and increasing the indoor environmental quality for the occupants.
Viridian can also help guide you through the EnergyStar certification process, a certification through the US government that can stand alone or be included in a LEED certification.
As many building owners know, design and construction of a building is only part of the process. Definition of the owner’s project requirements, the functional operation of the facility, and the assurance of continued energy and operational efficiency will all contribute to a more effective facility that has the lowest life-cycle costs possible. For existing and new facilities, Viridian can give the services to ensure a functional facility that provides a productive working environment at the lowest possible costs.
Using energy modeling, Viridian can prioritize energy efficiency measures by first cost, rate of return, and environmental impact. With the clients input, an implementation plan can be developed that addresses the triple bottom line. Viridian gives the upfront engineering support to define savings, quantify project costs, and develop plans for implementation. Energy modeling, control system analysis, building envelope review, equipment audits and system commissioning are services we can provide the optimal building and system performance.
Measurement and Verification (M&V) is vital for proving savings and ensuring the success of any energy efficiency projects. The M&V process includes establishing the potential of a project’s efficiency measures to save energy and then verifies that the expected results associated with these upgrades are achieved. Viridian can evaluate with specificity where and how energy is used and provide information that reassures our customers get the results they expect from investing in energy efficiency.
Viridian provides comprehensive indoor environmental quality plans in order to help sustain the comfort and well-being of workers and their environment. Our comprehensive approach reduces occupants’ exposure to harmful chemicals, increases the ventilation effectiveness, and reduces contamination from construction/renovation activities.
