New engineer expands Viridian’s Capacity
Little rock, Ark. – MAY 1, 2009: Gustavo Perez-Sandi was recently hired as an Energy Engineer for Viridian, a Little Rock-based LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) and sustainability consulting firm in Little Rock.  Formerly ecoIntergration, Viridian formed early this year when President Chris Ladner partnered with local construction contractor Matt Bell to offer a greater range of efficiency solutions for building owners that are both fiscally rewarding and environmentally sound.

A native of Leon, Mexico, Gustavo has studied engineering in both Mexico and the United States. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arkansas in 2008.  His previous experience brings technical expertise in HVAC systems, manufacturing and marketing.

“Gustavo comes to us at a critical time,” said Ladner. “His presence and expertise will help us keep up with the growing demand for our services.”

Gustavo said he saw Viridian as an opportunity to apply traditional engineering skills to an emerging field that yields a positive result for the environment as well as the financial bottom line. “It is possible to minimize our environmental impact without sacrificing profit.   That is what the sum of our work here at Viridian is proving,” said Gustavo.

Previously Gustavo has worked for Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, Illinois and the University of Arkansas. He is a member of the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
